About this work
Life rarely unfolds exactly as we imagined. Some things go according to plan, while others find their own way. This was also the case in my work with the aluminium pieces for the sculpture series “The Weight-Bearers” created as a companion to the bronze series in a lighter and more affordable material as part of my SUPPORT THE ARTIST project.
I used the same models as for the bronze sculptures, but the aluminium behaved differently. It solidified faster, moved more freely, and the result was figures that did not turn out quite as I had envisioned. Several people suggested that I should melt them down and start over. But as I looked at them, I saw something else. A possibility. A distinctive kind of beauty that lives in the unexpected, in the unfinished, in everything that emerges when the material is allowed to speak for itself.
Aluminium is lighter both in weight and expression, and for that reason these works also carry a more accessible price. They stand on bases of walnut wood, which adds a warm contrast and depth to the raw metal.
As part of my SUPPORT THE ARTIST project, the aluminium sculptures are created to give more people the opportunity to become part of the process. When you invest in one of them, you support my work directly and make it possible for me to develop new projects, including those abroad, in the future.
Each aluminium sculpture exists only as a single, unique piece (see the notes below) and is available for a limited period. They are released 24 hours before the bronze works and are a little more than 40 percent cheaper. They are a meeting between craftsmanship and chance, and for that reason entirely unique in their expression.

This work is signed and dated. Only this one piece exists. Some original works are also available as art prints in varying sizes.

Quality assurance
When you purchase a work, you can be certain that you are buying a high-quality product. Watercolours are painted on acid-free paper. Acrylics and canvases are always of the highest quality.
